The project CONNECTION - Cultural Organisations as Communication and Learning Environments, funded with the support of the European Commission in the frame of Lifelong Learning Programme – Grundtvig action and started on 1st of October 2007, will come to its end of 30 of September 2009. CONNECTION project aimed to promote learning as social constructivism and to improve the capacity of cultural institutions to be active players in adult education field, to forge new relations with and within the community and to contribute to the social cohesion and cultural dialogue.
After two years of intensive work, partner organisations would like to thank to all individuals and institutions that have helped and contributed to the successful realisation of this project and also to express their trust that the outputs developed in its framework will continue to produce results in the educational and cultural fields of practice. During the implementation period, 426 cultural managers and professionals from Bulgaria, Italy, Lithuania, Romania and Turkey took part in the first phase of the research and 10 cultural institutions were involved in processes of organizational analysis; 110 cultural and educational professionals and managers participated in local seminars organized in the countries participating in the project and 21 in the international Grundtvig training sessions organized in Izmir, Turkey and Verona, Italy. Many more others, from all over the Europe, were informed about project’s activities and results.
The main outputs of CONNECTION project available to the public are:
- a Research report on Adult Education in Cultural Institutions from Bulgaria, Lithuania, Italy, Romania and Turkey, including a series of case studies based on organizational analyses conducted in museum, libraries, cultural centres and NGOs;
- a Training curriculum for cultural professionals who are developing educational activities within their organizations and a complementary material on Adult education methods;
- a Training curriculum for cultural managers interested to develop the educational dimension and capacity of their organization, accompanied by an Organisational development guide, meant to help them in this process;
